RESUMO

A primary dataset capturing five distinct types of sheep activities in realistic settings was constructed at various resolutions and viewing angles, targeting the expansion of the domain knowledge for non-contact virtual fencing approaches. The present dataset can be used to develop non-invasive approaches for sheep activity detection, which can be proven useful for farming activities including, but not limited to, sheep counting, virtual fencing, behavior detection for health status, and effective sheep breeding. Sheep activity classes include grazing, running, sitting, standing, and walking. The activities of individuals, as well as herds of sheep, were recorded at different resolutions and angles to provide a dataset of diverse characteristics, as summarized in Table 1. Overall, a total of 149,327 frames from 417 videos (the equivalent of 59 minutes of footage) are presented with a balanced set for each activity class, which can be utilized for robust non-invasive detection models based on computer vision techniques. Despite a decent existence of noise within the original data (e.g., segments with no sheep present, multiple sheep in single frames, multiple activities by one or more sheep in single as well as multiple frames, segments with sheep alongside other non-sheep objects), we provide original videos and the original videos' frames (with videos and frames containing humans omitted for privacy reasons). The present dataset includes diverse sheep activity characteristics and can be useful for robust detection and recognition models, as well as advanced activity detection models as a function of time for the applications.

ABSTRACT: An 83-year-old man with multiple myeloma and history of coronary artery disease and ischemic cardiomyopathy experienced cardiac arrest during the 18F-FDG PET/CT examination. The patient had not yet been treated for multiple myeloma. The PET/CT demonstrated focal FDG uptake about the left anterior descending coronary artery. Diffuse intense FDG uptake in the liver and less than normal uptake in other organs of usual FDG distribution were also present, likely due to altered hemodynamics and heart failure in the setting of an acute coronary syndrome.

Multiple Myeloma (MM) is the second most common hematological malignancy and is characterized by clonal expansion of malignant plasma cells in the bone marrow. In spite of recent advances in the field of MM, the disease has remained incurable. MM is preceded by a premalignant state known as monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), with a risk of progression to MM of 1% per year. Establishing a scalable approach that refines the identification of MGUS patients at high risk of progression to MM can transform the clinical management of the disease, improve the patient's quality of life, and will have significant socioeconomic implications. Here, we provide evidence that changes in the bone marrow adipose tissue (BMAT) provide an early sign for progression from MGUS to MM. We employed AI-assisted histological analysis of unstained bone marrow biopsies from MGUS subjects with or without progression to MM within 10 years (n = 24, n = 17 respectively). Although the BMAT fraction was not different between the two groups, bone marrow adipocyte (BMAd) density was decreased in MGUS patients who developed MM, compared to non-progressing MGUS patients. Importantly, the distribution profile for BMAd size and roundness was significantly different between the two groups, indicating a shift toward increased BMAd size and roundness in MGUS patients who developed MM. These early changes in the BMAT could serve as valuable early indicators for the transition from MGUS to MM, potentially enabling timely interventions and personalized treatment strategies. Finally, the AI-based approach for histological characterization of unstained bone marrow biopsies is cost-effective and fast, rendering its clinical implementation feasible.

Prion diseases are fatal neurodegenerative disorders characterized by the conversion of the cellular prion protein (PrPC) into a misfolded prion form, which is believed to disrupt the cellular membranes. However, the exact mechanisms underlying prion toxicity, including the formation of membrane pores, are not fully understood. The prion protein consists of two domains: a globular domain (GD) and a flexible N-terminus (FT) domain. Although a proximal polybasic amino acid (FT(23-31) sequence of FT is a prerequisite for cellular membrane permeabilization, other functional domain regions may modulate its effects. Through single-channel electrical recordings and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), we discovered that the FT(23-50) fragment forms pore-shaped oligomers and plays a dominant role in membrane permeabilization within the full-length mouse prion protein (mPrP(23-230)). In contrast, the FT(51-110) domain or the C-terminal domain downregulate the channel activity of FT(23-50) and mPrP(23-230). The addition of prion mimetic antibody, POM1 significantly amplifies mPrP(23-230) membrane permeabilization, whereas POM1_Y104A, a mutant that binds to PrP but cannot elicit toxicity, has a negligible effect on membrane permeabilization. Additionally, the anti-N-terminal antibody POM2 or Cu2+ binds to the FT domain, subsequently enhancing the FT(23-110) channel activity. Importantly, our setup provides a novel approach without an external fused protein to examine the channel activity of truncated PrP in the lipid membranes. We therefore propose that the primary N-terminal residues are essential for membrane permeabilization, while other functional segments of PrP play a vital role in modulating the pathological effects of PrP-mediated neurotoxicity.

Hepatitis C virus infection (HCV) is the foremost reason of progressive hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis, with an elevated risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development. Medicinal plants have been used for human health benefits for several years, but their therapeutic potential needs to be explored. The main objective of this study was to figure out the in vitro antiviral and anticancer characteristics of total crude protein of Iberis gibraltarica against HCV and HCC. Total crude protein of Iberis gibraltarica was isolated and quantified. The level of cytotoxicity was measured against the HepG2 cell line and it shows no significant cytotoxicity at the concentration of 504µg/ml. The anti-HCV effect was determined by absolute quantification via real time RT-PCR method and viral titer was reduced up to 66% in a dose dependent manner against the total protein of Iberis gibraltarica. The anticancer potential of Iberis gibraltarica was also examined through mRNA expression studies of AFP and GPC3 genes against the total protein of Iberis gibraltarica-treated HepG2 cells. The results show up to 90% of the down-regulation expression of AFP and GPC3. The obtained results indicate the therapeutic potential of total protein of Iberis gibraltarica against HCV and hepatocellular carcinoma in vitro.


A infecção pelo vírus da hepatite C (HCV) é a principal causa de fibrose hepática progressiva e cirrose, com risco elevado de desenvolvimento de carcinoma hepatocelular (HCC). As plantas medicinais vêm sendo utilizadas para benefícios à saúde humana há vários anos, mas seu potencial terapêutico precisa ser explorado. O principal objetivo deste estudo foi descobrir as características antivirais e anticancerígenas in vitro da proteína bruta total de Iberis gibraltarica contra HCV e HCC. A proteína bruta total de Iberis gibraltarica foi isolada e quantificada. O nível de citotoxicidade foi medido contra a linha celular HepG2 e não apresenta citotoxicidade significativa na concentração de 504µg/ml. O efeito anti-HCV foi determinado por quantificação absoluta através do método RT-PCR em tempo real e o título viral foi reduzido em até 66% de forma dose-dependente contra a proteína total de Iberis gibraltarica. O potencial anticancerígeno de Iberis gibraltarica também foi examinado através de estudos de expressão de mRNA dos genes AFP e GPC3 contra a proteína total de células HepG2 tratadas com Iberis gibraltarica. Os resultados mostram até 90% da expressão de regulação negativa de AFP e GPC3. Os resultados obtidos indicam o potencial terapêutico da proteína total de Iberis gibraltarica contra HCV e carcinoma hepatocelular in vitro.

Abstract Reports abound on Lernaea parasitizing the brood stock, fingerlings, and marketable-sized culturable freshwater fish species in various parts of the world. We investigated seven small-scale aquaculture farms and how the prevailing Lernaea is impacting them. Randomly seven fish farms were selected to determine the prevalence percentage of lernaeid ectoparasites. Relevant information of the fishponds to estimate the various aspects such as effects of water source and quality, feed, stocking density, treatment used, and weight and length of fish, concerned with Lernaea infestation and prevalence was gathered. The results indicated that Catla catla (F. Hamilton, 1822) showed highest prevalence (41.7%) among the seven fish species, whereas Oreochromis niloticus showed zero. Other five fish species Ctenopharyngodon idella, Cirrhinus cirrhosis, Cyprinus carpio, Labeo rohita and Hypophthalmichthys molitrix showed 13.2%, 8.1%, 7.7%, 7.4%, 0.9% prevalence, respectively. In Royal Fish Farm 84.3% lernaeid infestation was observed, while no parasite was observed in the Vicents Chunnian fish farm. The water source, quality, feed, fertilizers, stocking density, water temperature, and potential treatment options displayed varying tendencies among fish farms and prevalence. Depending on the weight and length, the highest prevalence (56.7%, and 66.7%) was observed in 3501-4000 g and 81-90 cm groups. The infestation rate varied in various fish body parts with the dorsal fin the most vulnerable organ and showed 2.3% overall prevalence (while 18.4% contribution within total 12.6% infestation). Out of 147 infected fish samples, 45 were extensively contaminated by Lernaea spread. In conclusion, our findings confirm that Lernaea could pose a considerable threat to marketable fish, and various treatment options should be educated to the farmers to help mitigate the spread and potential losses. Furthermore, Catla catla is more vulnerable to Lernaea infestation (41.7%), so are the fish species being cultured at higher stocking densities.


Resumo Abundam os relatórios sobre Lernaea parasitando o estoque de cria, alevinos e espécies de peixes de água doce cultiváveis de tamanho comercial em várias partes do mundo. Investigamos sete fazendas de aquicultura de pequena escala e de que maneira a Lernaea predominante está impactando-as. Aleatoriamente, sete fazendas de peixes foram selecionadas para determinar a porcentagem de prevalência de ectoparasitas de Lernaea. Foram recolhidas informações relevantes sobre os viveiros de peixes para estimar os vários aspectos, tais como efeitos da fonte e qualidade da água, alimentação, densidade de povoamento, tratamento utilizado e peso e comprimento dos peixes, relacionados com a infestação e prevalência de Lernaea. Os resultados indicaram que Catla catla (F. Hamilton, 1822) apresentou maior prevalência (41,7%) entre as sete espécies de peixes, enquanto Oreochromis niloticus apresentou zero. Outras cinco espécies de peixes Ctenopharyngodon idella, Cirrhinus cirrhosis, Cyprinus carpio, Labeo rohita e Hypophthalmichthys molitrix apresentaram 13,2%, 8,1%, 7,7%, 7,4%, 0,9% de prevalência, respectivamente. PURPOSE: To assess the effects of adhesive resin cement, obturation material and dentin location on the retention of glass fiber-reinforced resin composite (FRRC) posts. METHODS: 60 root canals in single rooted teeth were obturated with three different protocols (n= 20), including no obturation material (Control), GuttaFlow and Gutta-percha. Spaces were prepared for glass (FRCR) posts. Subgroups of the roots (n=10) were allocated for receiving posts luted with RelyX Unicem or Calibra resin cements. The specimens were mounted in plastic molds using epoxy resin. They were sectioned transversely to obtain three 1 mm-thick coronal, middle and apical slabs. Post retention was measured using a universal testing machine. The push-out test was performed at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/minute until post dislodgement occurred. Dislodged posts were examined microscopically to evaluate the mode of failure. Data were analyzed using univariate tests to reveal the effects of dependent variables and their interactions on post retention. Tukey test was used to determine significant differences for post retention in obturation material and dentin location groups. P-values ≤ 0.05 were considered significant. RESULTS: The adhesive resin cement, obturation material, dentin location and cement obturation materials interaction affected post retention. The mean bond strength was higher for posts cemented with RelyX Unicem than for those cemented with Calibra resin cements. Post retention in coronal locations was significantly superior to middle or apical locations. The failure mode was primarily mixed. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: When using RelyX Unicem cement for luting glass fiber-reinforced root canal posts, complete removal of all obturation materials from the post space significantly improves the retention. Although Calibra cement is less technique sensitive than RelyX Unicem resin cement, it produces notably lower retention of fiber-reinforced glass root canal posts.

OBJECTIVES: Severe and very severe hypertriglyceridemia although rare within the pediatric population occur more often among oncology patients, secondary to chemotherapeutic agents. Currently there exists minimal literature to guide management of severe hypertriglyceridemia among pediatric patients. Very-low-fat dietary restriction should be considered over nil per os (NPO) for initial management of severe hypertriglyceridemia in stable pediatric patients. Pediatricians caring for oncology patients must consider chylomicronemia as a potential etiology for presenting symptoms. Pediatric severe hypertriglyceridemia management guidelines are needed as pediatricians must currently rely on anecdotal experiences for management decisions. CASE PRESENTATION: Three children receiving treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia required hospitalization for very severe hypertriglyceridemia. Management varied among the cases but included: NPO or very-low-fat diet, insulin, intravenous fluids, fibrates, and omega-3 fatty acids. CONCLUSIONS: These cases suggest that pediatric severe hypertriglyceridemia management, in the absence of pancreatitis should allow a very-low-fat diet initially rather than NPO followed by pharmacologic therapies.

Morphometric measurement and roosting ecology of Pteropus medius were aimed to find out in Mansehra district of KP, Pakistan. Total 3149 numbers of bats were found in eight biological spots visited; Baffa Doraha, Darband, Dadar, Jallu, Hazara University, Garhi Habibullah Chattar Plain and Jabori, in total 299 numbers of different species of trees including; Morus alba, Pinus raxburghi, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Morus nigra, Grevillea robusta, Brousonetia papyrifera, Platanus orientalis, Ailanthus altissima, Hevea brasiliensis and Populus nigra. Morphometric features were measured and found vary according to sex of the bats. The average wing span, wing`s length from tip of wing to neck, from thumb to tip of wing and the body`s length from head and claws were recorded to be 102.98 cm, 49.07cm, 28.7 cm and 22.78 cm respectively in males while 93.67 cm, 44.83cm, 24.78cm and 22.78 cm respectively in female bats. Mean circumference of the body including wings and without wing were measured as 22.78 cm and 17.29 cm in males and that of female were 20.07 cm and 16.9 cm. Average length of thumb 3.64 cm, ear`s length 3.1 cm, snout 5.62cm, eye length were 1.07 cm for both sexes and length between the feet in extended position were16.3 cm. Generally different measurement of males bodies were found to be greater than female such as mean body surface area, mass, volume and pressure were found to be 2691.79 cm2, 855.7gm,1236.4 ml and 295.77 dyne/ c m 3 for male and 2576.46 cm2, 852.71gm,1207 ml and 290.2 dyne/ c m 3 respectively for female. While weight and density for both males and females bats were same with mean of 8.59 newton and 0.701 g/m3. Findings of current reports can add valued information in literature about bats, which can be used for species identification and conservation.

The presence of microplastics in aquatic environments has raised concerns about their abundance and potential hazards to aquatic organisms. This review provides insight into the problem that may be of alarm for freshwater fish. Plastic pollution is not confined to marine ecosystems; freshwater also comprises plastic bits, as the most of plastic fragments enter oceans via rivers. Microplastics (MPs) can be consumed by fish and accumulated due to their size and poor biodegradability. Furthermore, it has the potential to enter the food chain and cause health problems. Evidence of MPs s ingestion has been reported in >150 fish species from both freshwater and marine systems. However, microplastic quantification and toxicity in freshwater ecosystems have been underestimated, ignored, and not reported as much as compared to the marine ecosystem. However, their abundance, influence, and toxicity in freshwater biota are not less than in marine ecosystems. The interaction of MPs with freshwater fish, as well as the risk of human consumption, remains a mystery. Nevertheless, our knowledge of the impacts of MPs on freshwater fish is still very limited. This study detailed the status of the toxicity of MPs in freshwater fish. This review will add to our understanding of the ecotoxicology of microplastics on freshwater fish and give subsequent research directions.

In this paper, we have compared a new type of similarity transformation derived systematically by using Lie point symmetries with the existing similarity transformations for unsteady fluid flow and heat transfer in the boundary layer in the presence of radiation. It is observed that the existing transformations map the steady and marginally accelerating flows only, while the Lie similarity transformations provide solutions for all types of accelerating flows and are independent of unsteadiness in the fluid. The previous transformations are valid for a specific time interval which depends on a range of unsteadiness parameter, however the Lie similarity transformations provide valid solutions at any given time. This implies that the Lie similarity transformations yield solutions for previously unexplored ranges of unsteadiness in the fluid. Boundary layer flow physics for both types of transformations is discussed by employing the Homotopy analysis method. We show that for accelerating fluids, in the developing region, the boundary layer thickness first increases and than starts to decrease with increase in unsteadiness for fully developed flow. Detailed comparison of velocity and temperature profiles in the boundary layer is made using the tables and graphs which show that with Lie similarity transformations the region of study of the considered flow extends significantly for the unsteadiness parameter. The effect of the Prandtl number and radiation parameter on temperature distribution is also compared for both types of similarity transformations. The Lie symmetry similarity transformations are shown to explain the unsteady laminar boundary layer flow and heat transfer to an extent where the existing similarity transformations do not work.

Vertical stacking of two-dimensional materials into layered van der Waals heterostructures is considered favourable for nanoelectronics and thermoelectric applications. In this work, we investigate the structural, electronic and thermoelectric properties of GeC and Janus monolayers MXO (M = Ti, Zr; X = S, Se) and their van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures using first-principles calculations. The values of binding energies, interlayer distances and thermal stability confirm the stability of these vdW heterostructures. The calculated band structure shows that GeC monolayer have a direct band gap while MXO (M = Ti, Zr; X = S, Se) and their van der Waals heterostructures show indirect band nature. Partial density of states confirms the type-II band alignment of GeC-MXY vdW heterostructures. Our results shows that ZrSeO (GeC) monolayers and GeC-ZrSO vdW heterostructures have higher power factor, making them promising for thermoelectric device applications.

The potential of Fluorescence spectroscopy has been utilized for the quality analysis of canola and mustard oil along with the effect of heating on their molecular composition has been investigated. Laser diode at 405 nm has been employed directly to oil surface to excite both oil type samples and their emission spectra has been recorded by an in-house developed Fluorosensor. The emission spectra of both oil types unveiled that they contain carotenoids, isomers of vitamin E and chlorophylls that exhibit their fluorescence at 525 and 675/720 nm, and these can be used as markers for their quality assurance. Fluorescence spectroscopy is a fast, reliable and non-destructive analytical technique for the quality assessment of both oil types. Moreover, the effect of temperature on their molecular composition has been investigated by heating them at 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 170, 180 and 200 °C, each sample for 30 min which was done because both oils are used for cooking and frying. On heating, the deterioration of carotenoids and isomers of vitamin E in both oil types occurred with an increase in the oxidised products. However, it was found that up to 150 °C, both oil types can be used safely for cooking/frying purpose where they do not lose much of their valuable ingredients and up to 180 °C for deep frying, both oils can be used with less deterioration and after that both deteriorated much due to rapid increase of the oxidized products. The portable Fluorosensor, therefore, proved as an excellent device for quality screening of edible oils based on carotenoids and vitamin E.

Brachymetatarsia is caused by premature closure of the physis and is characterized by a short metatarsal. Additional foot conditions may exist in patients presenting with brachymetatarsia, such as hallux valgus (HV). A retrospective study was performed to evaluate the prevalence of HV and brachymetatarsia in the ipsilateral foot. Ninety-seven feet with congenital brachymetatarsia were reviewed in a multi-study cohort of 66 patients who underwent surgical correction between January 2005 and August 2020 at a single institution. The group was comprised of 61 females and 5 males, with a mean age of 27 years. HV deformities were verified with standardized anteroposterior radiographs. HV was present in 29 of 97 feet for a prevalence of 30% in the feet with brachymetatarsia. Our results demonstrate a 30% prevalence of HV associated with brachymetatarsia. This information is helpful for foot and ankle surgeons managing brachymetatarsia to determine appropriate conservative or surgical management of this condition.

In the current study, the application of fluorescence spectroscopy along with the advanced statistical technique and confocal microscopy was investigated for the early detection of stripe rust infection in wheat grown under field conditions. The indigenously developed Fluorosensor fitted with LED, emitting monochromatic light was used that covered comparatively larger leaf area for recording fluorescence data thus presenting more reliable current status of the leaf. The examined leaf samples covered the entire range of stripe rust disease infection from no visible symptoms to the complete disease prevalence. The molecular changes were also assessed in the leaves as the disease progresses. The emission spectra mainly produce two fluorescence emission classes, namely the blue-green fluorescence (400-600 nm range) and chlorophyll fluorescence (650-800 nm range). The chlorophyll fluorescence region showed lower chlorophyll bands both at 685 and 735 nm in the asymptomatic (early diseased) and symptomatic (diseased) leaf samples than the healthy ones as a result of partial deactivation of PSII reaction centers. The 735 nm chlorophyll fluorescence band was either slight or completely absent in the leaf samples with lower to higher disease incidence and thus differentiate between the healthy and the infected leaf samples. The Hydroxycinnamic acids (caffeic and sinapic acids) showed decreasing trend, whereas the ferulic acid increased with the rise in disease infection. Peak broadening/shifting has been observed in case of ferulic acid and carotenes/carotenoids, with the increase in the disease intensity. While using the LEDs (365 nm), the peak broadening and the decline in the chlorophyll fluorescence bands could be used for the early prediction of stripe rust disease in wheat crop. The PLSR statistical techniques discriminated well between the healthy and the diseased samples, thus showed promise in early disease detection. Confocal microscopy confirmed the early prevalence of stripe rust disease infection in a susceptible variety at a stage when the disease is not detectable visually. It is inferred that fluorescence emission spectroscopy along with the chemometrics aided in the effective and timely diagnosis of plant diseases and the detected signatures provide the basis for remote sensing.

Brachymetatarsia is a condition in which a metatarsal bone does not grow out to full length. This is caused by premature physeal closure. The proximal phalanx associated with the shortened metatarsal helps achieve the natural parabola of the foot. A hypoplastic proximal phalanx is a common finding in patients with brachymetatarsia. The goal of this study was to determine the length of the proximal phalanx in the setting of brachymetatarsia, and how much the shortening is attributed to the clinically smaller toe. We performed a retrospective study to evaluate the length of the proximal phalanx in the shortened ray. After the metatarsal was brought out to the desired length of correction, the proximal phalanx was measured on radiographs. Ninety-seven feet with congenital brachymetatarsia were reviewed in a cohort of 66 patients who underwent surgical correction between January 2005 and February 2020 at a single institution. The group was comprised of 61 females and 5 males, with a mean age of 27.5 years. The average length of the proximal phalanx associated with the affected metatarsal was noted to be 18.9 ± 3.83 mm for males and 15.6 ± 4.02 mm for females. Our results indicate the shortened proximal phalanx is 5 mm shorter when compared to normal population and is a contributing factor to the shortened clinical appearance of the digit in brachymetatarsia. Treating surgeons should be aware of this to better educate patients on the influence of the digit on the overall shortening seen in cases of brachymetatarsia.

➤: Dual mobility (DM) refers to a now widely available option for total hip articulation. DM implants feature a small inner head, a hard bearing, that connects via a taper fit onto the femoral trunnion. This head freely rotates but is encased inside a larger, outer polyethylene head that articulates with a smooth acetabular component. ➤: DM acetabular components are available in the form of a monoblock shell or as a liner that is impacted into a modular shell, providing a metal articulation for the polyethylene outer head. ➤: DM is designed to increase hip stability by providing the arthroplasty construct with a higher jump distance, head-to-neck ratio, and range of motion prior to impingement. ➤: The use of DM in total hip arthroplasty continues to increase in the United States for both primary and revision arthroplasty. Surgeons should be aware of the potential benefits and pitfalls. ➤: Long-term data are lacking, especially for modular DM implants. Points of concern include a potential for accelerated polyethylene wear, intraprosthetic dislocation, and modular backside fretting corrosion.

The dengue virus (DENV) infection is a worldwide cause of serious illness and death. Early and efficient prediction of disease may help in proper medical management to control disease. Keeping this in view, multivariate classification models by combining with Raman spectroscopy have been developed for the diagnosis of DENV infection in human blood sera. For study design, a statistical analysis is performed to select the sample size for training of models. Total 1240 Raman spectra have been acquired from 39 DENV infected and 23 healthy sera samples. Prior to model development, Raman spectra were examined using ANOVA test for significant differences present in the intensities of newly appeared Raman bands at 622, 645, 700, 746, 800, 814, 873, 890, 948, 1002, 1018, 1080, 1235, 1250, 1272, 1386, 1404, 1446, 1609 and 1645 cm-1. The significant differences and characteristic patterns of Raman bands induced by disease played decisive role and are exploited for development of multivariate model. Classification models are developed by utilizing principal component analysis (PCA) to extract discriminant features from multidimensional Raman spectral dataset and followed by support vector machines (SVM) with Polynomial of 5, RBF, and liner kernels. The proposed model for this study is built using 10-fold cross validation technique and evaluated on independent dataset to demonstrate its robustness. PCA-SVM (poly-5) model successfully yielded high diagnostic accuracy of 99.52%, sensitivity of 99.75%, specificity of 99.09% for classification of unknown suspected samples. For comparison, PCA discriminant analysis (PCA-DA), partial least squares regression (PLSR) are PLS-DA have been compared. It is found that PCA-SVM (poly-5) approach is more effective and robust compared to other state-of-the-art approaches and it can be used for clinical prediction of DENV infection in human blood sera.

In this study, we surveyed 635 participants to determine: (a) major causes of mental stress during the pandemic and its future impacts, and (b) diversity in public perception of the COVID-19 vaccination and its acceptance (specifically for children). Statistical results and intelligent clustering outcomes indicate significant associations between sociodemographic diversity, mental stress causes, and vaccination perception. For instance, statistical results indicate significant dependence between gender (we will use term 'sex' in the rest of the manuscript) and mental stress due to COVID-19 infection (p = 1.7 × 10-5). Over 25% of males indicated work-related stress compared to 35% in females, however, females indicated that they were more stressed (17%) due to relationships compared to males (12%). Around 30% of Asian/Arabic participants do not feel that the vaccination is safe as compared to 8% of white British and 22% of white Europeans, indicating significant dependence (p = 1.8 × 10-8) with ethnicity. More specifically, vaccination acceptance for children is significantly dependent with ethnicity (p = 3.7 × 10-5) where only 47% participants show willingness towards children's vaccination. The primary dataset in this study along with experimental outcomes identifying sociodemographic information diversity with respect to public perception and acceptance of vaccination in children and potential stress factors might be useful for the public and policymakers to help them be better prepared for future epidemics, as well as working globally to combat mental health issues.
